People are the heart of SONNE.
SONNE is a local organization, built and run by people who work directly with the communities around our schools and centres.
Today, more than 30 people work with SONNE in Yangon. Around 85% are women, and many of our team members come from the communities we serve.
Our team includes teachers, social workers, vocational trainers, healthcare staff, cooks, administrative and management staff. They are the people who open our centres every morning, teach the children, prepare their meals, visit families, provide medical support, organise training and keep everything running behind the scenes.
But their work is about more than jobs and responsibilities.
They know our children by name. They know their families. They notice when something is wrong. They see the realities our students face outside the classroom — and they keep showing up.
SONNE is local by nature and by choice. Our team is at the centre of everything we do, working closely with the children, families and communities we serve.
More than 300 children and young people currently take part in our education programmes, and our team continues to grow as we reach more communities and create new opportunities.
Different roles. One team. One purpose: giving children and young people more opportunities to build a better future.
meet our Team - the people behind the work
Below you can meet some of the people who help lead, coordinate and support SONNE's work in Myanmar.
They have different roles, different backgrounds and different responsibilities.
What they share is a commitment to the children, young people and families we work with.
We are a team — and SONNE is a team effort.
